The National Shrine Online Memorial Registry
The Online Memorial Registry is a virtual extension of the walls of the Memorial Hall located in the lower level of the National Shrine. Thousands of names were carved in its marble walls honoring the pioneer donors, institutions, benefactors, and priests who made the construction of the Shrine a reality. The Online Memorial Registry offers you the opportunity to honor a loved one by becoming part of the legacy of those who helped build this magnificent Basilica.
The Online Memorial is a Perpetual Enrollment that is not limited to the walls of the Memorial Hall of the Shrine. It can be viewed anywhere in the world through the Internet. Those enrolled will be remembered in Novenas of Masses here at Mary's Shrine. It is also a wonderful gift for special occasions such as Birthdays, Baptisms, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Graduations, Weddings and Anniversaries, Thanksgiving to God for blessings received, Religious Professions, and Ordinations.
Important dates, a prayerful message, and a photo can be included in the virtual memorial tablet which will be accessible at the website of the Basilica of the National Shrine. If you would like to see our published memorials click here. If you want to create a new memorial registry, click here.
For a suggested donation of $50 your loved ones will be honored in this special enrollment at the Shrine. You can also request the Commemorative Memorial Registry Certificate, a full color print of the enrollment enclosed within a keepsake folder showing image of the Shrine and a listing of spiritual benefits.
Those enrolled become part of the Shrine Prayer Guild. They are remembered in a Novena of Masses the last nine days of every month and are prayed for during the daily Rosary. In addition, the deceased are remembered in daily Mass throughout the month of November. Records are permanently maintained at the Basilica. All donations are used to support the ministry of the National Shrine and provide for its maintenance and enhancement.
