The Basilica of the National Shrine was built on an unshakable foundation of faith. Our physical construction, however, is of stone and steel, marble and glass, much of which is now nearly a century old. It is an expensive undertaking, indeed, to maintain this extraordinary and sacred shrine — the largest Catholic Church in Please consider supporting our 2012 Annual Fund. We count on you when we raise the funds that will be needed throughout the year to continue our mission of pilgrimage, prayer, and worship. It is our Annual Fund that helps make it possible to meet the considerable operating expenses of maintaining the Shrine in honor of our Blessed Mother.
